Readings:

1. July 8:   Designing Popular Education Curriculum

This session will look at the challenge of designing popular education activities and, in particular, course design. Specifically, we will look at the syllabi of several popular education classes taught at the Faculty of Environmental Studies. You can download versions of these syllabi from the following links. The “Booklet” version requires double-sided printing and saddle-stitching (if you want the cool ‘zine version) and the “single page view” is just that – printable/viewable as a letter-sized page.

  • Curriculum for Popular Education for Social Change, Part I: Theory/Practice (ENVS6150, Fall 2012): ‘Zine or Single Page View
  • Curriculum for Popular Education for Social Change, Part II: Practice/Theory (ENVS6151, Winter 2013): ‘Zine or Single Page View
  • Curriculum for Popular Education for Social and Environmental Justice (ES3125, Fall 2012):   ‘Zine or Single Page View
